Katy Walden (nee Howker) is a representational artist living and working in Warwickshire. She studied Fine Art at Falmouth School of Art and is still drawn to the coast as inspiration for her some of her work. Working predominantly in Oils she aims to capture the light and essence of her subjects through a visual language of marks and brushstrokes.
She has previously exhibited at the Mall Galleries and won an award with the New English Art Club. More recently her work has featured in Open Exhibitions in the Warwickshire area including the Rugby Open, Herbert Gallery, Broadway Arts Festival and LSA Art Room, where she has also been artist in residence. Her work has been exhibited as part of Warwickshire Open Studios and the Art in the Park festival in Leamington Spa and she has been selected as a finalist for the SAA Artist of the Year 24 and ING Discerning Eye exhibition in London.
